Знать, корона и пограничные территории при первых Тюдорах в трудах Стивена Эллиса

Аннотация. Статья посвящена творчеству известного британского историка Стивена Эллиса. В статье анализируется концепция роли пограничья в тюдоровской Англии и места знати в королевской политике по отношению к пограничью. По мнению историка, судьба территориальных магнатов пограничных земель была тесно связана с развитием этих областей и их положением в составе монархии Тюдоров. Отношения Короны и пограничных баронов, по мнению С. Эллиса, не являются показателем кризиса аристократии. Они показывают ситуацию, в которой оказалась пограничная знать - противоречие между требованиями пограничных сообществ и Короны.
